When it comes to travel, hostels can be some of the most inclusive places to stay. This inclusivity extends beyond just the guests, but also to the staff and owners. By choosing to support hostels owned by people of color, you not only contribute to a more diverse and inclusive travel industry, but you also leave a positive impact on the places you visit.

Shining a Light on Black Entrepreneurs in the Hostel Industry

In celebration of Black History Month, we want to highlight some of the amazing hostels around the world owned by Black entrepreneurs. These individuals are driving change in their communities and inspiring future Black business owners.

Hostelle: Black-Owned, Women-Only Hostels in Europe

Hostelle is a trailblazing hostel that first opened in Amsterdam as the city's first Black-owned hostel. The hostel has since expanded to London and Barcelona, hosting events that bring female travelers together. With comfortable common areas, libraries, fully equipped kitchens, and hair styling tools, Hostelle aims to make women feel at home during their stay.
