Handrytraxx Play

The Fascination with DJs and Their Tools

Even for those who may not be well-versed in the art of DJing, the allure of the turntable as an instrument is undeniable. It’s a complex and captivating skill, and the tools of the trade have long been a subject of intrigue for music enthusiasts and professionals alike.

Introducing the Handrytraxx Play

Recognizing the importance of portability for DJs on the move, Korg has unveiled the Handrytraxx Play. This new device not only honors the legacy of the Vestax Handy Trax but also incorporates Korg’s advanced technology. The result is a lightweight and versatile instrument that’s perfect for DJs to carry to gigs and performances.

A Collaboration with a Vision

The Handrytraxx Play is the brainchild of a collaboration between Korg and Toshide Nakama, the late former president of Vestax. Together, they envisioned a product that would merge the cherished aspects of the original vinyl player with the innovative features of today’s technology.

Features of the Handrytraxx Play

The turntable is equipped with built-in 3-W speakers and offers the flexibility to play records at 33.3, 45, or 78 rpm. It operates on AAA batteries or can be powered via a USB-C cord when an outlet is available. DJs will appreciate the built-in looper with variable playback speed, a crossfader with reverse mode, delay and scratch effects, and a variety of creative filters. Additionally, there’s the convenience of headphone playback monitoring and a detachable control panel for ease of use.

Portability Meets Professionalism

What sets the Handrytraxx Play apart is its portability without compromising on professional features. The design maintains the classic look of a vinyl turntable while being significantly more portable and lightweight, making it an ideal choice for DJs on the go.

A Glimpse at the Future of DJ Equipment

While the Handrytraxx Play is currently a non-playable prototype, it’s set to make a splash at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show. Korg plans to showcase this innovative gadget alongside a lineup of other new products, signaling a new era for DJ equipment.
