AYANEO, a brand known for gaming handhelds, is now taking the iconic Mac design and giving it a curious twist with its Retro Mini PC AM01.
A Unique Blend of Mac Design and PC Internals
The AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM01 combines the classic Mac design with modern PC internals. While other retro consoles aim to recreate the past, this mini PC offers not only a gaming computer but also a piece of desk decoration.

Unlike the Mac, the AYANEO Retro Mini PC is meant to lie horizontally, with a black rectangle at the rear denoting where the screen would be located. The ports for the computer are located on the top and bottom sides, making it necessary to use the mini PC in a horizontal position. It functions as a gaming console and requires peripherals to be plugged in.
Windows 11 Inside
The AYANEO Retro Mini PC runs on Windows 11, which might not sit well with Mac enthusiasts who are used to the eternal rivalry between Macs and PCs. However, this mini PC offers a unique blend of Mac design and PC functionality.

AYANEO has other retro designs in the works, including the Retro Mini PC AM02, which takes inspiration from the classic NES design. It also plans to release a handheld device that brings back the dual-display design of the Nintendo DS.
