Analysts are predicting that Apple will release a completely refreshed 4th Gen iPhone SE in 2024, nearly two years after the last update. The budget iPhone SE has been a popular choice for those looking for affordable iPhones, and it has also allowed Apple to showcase its recycling efforts by using elements from previous iPhones to build new models. However, designer 4RMD believes that the upcoming iPhone SE will finally see a design upgrade, featuring a flat-edge form factor, a camera notch with FaceID, and potentially even MagSafe. Rumored to be Apple's first 'Carbon Neutral' smartphone, the 4th Gen iPhone SE is expected to be revealed in 2024.

Design Upgrade and Display

According to 4RMD's renders, the 2024 iPhone SE will seamlessly blend into Apple's product lineup with a bigger and more responsive 6.1-inch OLED display. It will also feature a FaceID camera notch on the front and will be covered by Apple's Ceramic Shield glass. The phone will be available in classic colors such as black, white, and Product RED.

Powerful Processor

The 2024 iPhone SE will be powered by Apple's A16 Bionic Chip, which was recently introduced in the iPhone 15 series. While some may consider this to be overkill for a budget phone, the A16 chip excels at hardware rendering, making the iPhone SE a great choice for gaming and a perfect option for parents looking for a low-cost iPhone. However, the presence of the A16 chip may impact sales of the iPhone 13 and 14.

Camera and Other Specs

The budget iPhone SE will come with a single-shooter primary camera upgraded to 48MP. The ultrawide lens will also support Macro, Night Mode, and even capture Cinematic videos. However, it's important to note that 4RMD's concept may include some ambitious features, such as an Action Button and a transition to USB-C, which may not be included in the final product.

Safety Features and Charging

The concept video does not highlight Apple's safety features like car crash detection or the presence of wireless charging and MagSafe. While the phone may not come with a charger in the box, wireless charging capabilities will still be a valuable feature for most buyers.

The 4th Gen iPhone SE is expected to be released in 2024, but it remains uncertain whether it will launch alongside Apple's refreshed iPads in March or the iPhone 16 in October.
