Unveiling the Most Picturesque Travel Destinations Worldwide

Even though the days are getting shorter and we're in late autumn, the weather has remained unseasonably sunny and warm, which scientists say is unquestionably a consequence of climate change.

The Iberian Peninsula is getting the brunt of the heat in Europe, with record temperatures continuing in October. In the United States, California is also seeing a heat wave, with heat advisory notices still in place, which is strange, considering it is almost winter.

Here are some picturesque travel destinations to consider visiting if you haven't already.

Dubrovnik

By the Adriatic Sea, in southern Dalmatia, one of the historical regions of Croatia, lies Dubrovnik, a city with a history dating back to around the 7th century.

The city's historical center is well-known to visitors worldwide as the filming location for the fantasy series Game of Thrones.

The city walls, running for around 1.2 miles around the city, and which have added towers and turrets that protected the city, are easily recognizable as the city of King's Landing, the fictional capital of Westeros in the show.

If you love history, you'll discover that you can spend hours marveling at the old buildings and monuments that are perfectly preserved.

There are also several local dishes you should sample, such as Pasticada, a braised, sweet and sour beef dish; Sporki Makaruli, a pasta dish with a meat sauce flavored with cinnamon; and a wide variety of seafood, including the classic grilled fish as well as quirkier recipes like octopus salad.

November marks a seasonal transition for the Maldives as the weather gets sunnier, meaning it is the perfect time to lounge at the beach or try jet skiing and windsurfing. Since the water visibility is also excellent, you can try snorkeling or scuba diving.

The beauty of the region and its stunning landscapes have long been touted as some of the most beautiful in the world, but you must see them yourself to understand.

The Maldives is home to the world's first underwater hotel and the famous overwater bungalows. There are many spas on the island where you can spend a relaxing day and leave behind all your stress and worries.

South Downs

These chalk hills extend over 260 sq miles (670 square kilometers) across southeastern England. The peak is at Butser Hill, but the landscape is beautiful, and valleys and turf intersperse the rolling chalk hills.

The region is associated with numerous writers, including Jane Austen, Alfred Tennyson, and Rudyard Kipling. Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes resided close to the South Downs after his retirement, becoming a beekeeper.

The Seven Sisters are perhaps the most famous image of the Downs that most people have, a series of cliffs eroded by the sea over the years. The picturesque region has long attracted filmmakers and has appeared in Harry Potter, Atonement, and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

National nature reserves in the South Dow include Kingsley Vale, Lullington Heath, and Castle Hill. Two chalk hill figures on the slopes, the Long Man of Wilmington and the Litlington White Horse can be visited.

The Clayton Windmills, colloquially referred to as Jack and Jill, a well-known English nursery rhyme, were built in the 18th and early 19th centuries and are easily accessible by road via the A273.

The Chattri war memorial, dedicated to Indian soldiers from the First World War, can be reached only through a bridle path.

Boa Vista

Boa Vista means “good view” in Portuguese, and that's precisely what you'll get if you travel to this area. It is part of the Cape Verde Islands, an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Traveling in November guarantees that you can enjoy the sunlight.

The nearby island of Sal is also popular among tourists. It offers a more relaxed atmosphere than Boa Vista, which is more natural and, therefore, better suited for those who want something more adventurous. 

Both islands are arid, so if you enjoy the heat, this is the place for you. You can visit the Curral Velhd in southern Boa Vista, a little over 12 miles (20 kilometers) from the capital, Sal Rei.

This abandoned settlement dates back to the 17th century. Right nearby there's a beautiful beach where you can relax. You can also go turtle watching or enjoy the vibrant traditional music in Boa Vista.

Traveling is something that most do during the summer, but if you didn't take the time to relax at the time, you can do so now.
